Her story
Everyone needs to know Nina.
On Reddit she has her own home at r/ninathemonkey. On Instagram, fans from every timezone wait for the next clip from Awaji. On X, @NinaCommunity posts the videos that made traders stop scrolling.
Awaji
A real macaque
Nina lives at the Awajishima Monkey Center on Awaji Island, Japan — the same forest that made Punch famous. She is not a cartoon. She is a Japanese macaque with a troop, a birthday, and a following that spans Instagram, Reddit, and X.
Born 27 April 2022
No hands. Still climbing.
Nina was born with a congenital limb difference. She was raised by center staff and the Awaji troop after time apart from her mother. She eats fruit, does parkour, and greets visitors — on her own terms, with her feet.
Community-led
Strength, resilience, joy
The $ニーナ community is built around her story, not a roadmap. Punch opened the lane for Awaji monkeys on Solana. Nina is the follow-through — the Japanese ticker, the original name, the one the Reddit and Instagram fans already knew.
